What is the Intervale Food Hub?
The Food Hub is a collaboration between the Intervale Center and local farmers.
The Food Hub is a multi-farm CSA that offers a large selection of year-round shares, including vegetable, fruit and berry, meat, egg, cheese, yogurt, pesto, maple syrup and bread. Shares are available for spring (March-May), summer (June-October), winter (November-February) and student (September-May) seasons. The Food Hub provides year-round delivery to local businesses, schools and residential neighborhoods. The Food Hub offers a variety of payment options including check, credit card and EBT.
What's a CSA?
Community Supported Agriculture is a mutual commitment between local farmers and community members. CSA members provide a stable market and fair compensation for farmers. In return, farmers provide CSA members with a weekly share of the harvest during the local growing season. This relationship symbolizes a shared commitment to building a more local and equitable food system, one that enhances farm viability, land stewardship and community engagement.
CSD staff can now receive fresh local vegetables and products delivered to you at work! Shares will be delivered every Wednesday to the Colchester Middle School cafeteria. The pick up window is 1:30-4pm.
(Shares left at CMS beyond 4pm will be donated.)
The 2011 winter season will run for 14 weeks beginning the week of November 7th and run through the week of February 13th*.
*During Thanksgiving week (11/23/11), shares may be picked up directly at the Intervale and NOT at school. If you are unable to pick up your share at the Intervale the week of Thanksgiving, you will receive a double share on Wednesday 11/30/11.

The Intervale Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that strengthens community food systems. It is dedicated to preserving a great agricultural resource for the Burlington community, working with farmers to increase market access and viability, support short food chains that lower our carbon footprint and promote land use that protects Vermont's water quality. Together, our programs and services build a community food system for the people of Vermont: a food system that honors producers and values good food and good living.
